Tata Steel Cardiff Bay 5 (5 mile fun run).

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust's third Cardiff Bay 5 will take place on May Day Bank Holiday Monday 2 May 2011 so why not sign up today to make sure you have great plans already for your long holiday weekend?

Their 2k Fun Run is open to everyone regardless of age or ability; its purpose is to enable everyone to be part of a mass participation event with no pressure whatsoever to sprint, break any records or even run at all.

The 5-mile flat route takes you over the barrage that links Cardiff to Penarth - with fresh water on one side of you and salt water on the other, don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife in the water too.

UWIC CPPD Widening Access courses 2011:
Introduction to Youth and Community Work
(5 sessions).

Gabalfa Community Centre, Cardiff.
Starting Friday 6 May 2011, 10:00am - 3:00pm (5 consecutive Fridays).

This course is designed as an introduction for those who wish to undertake professional training in youth and community work and those who would like to know more about studying for the Youth and Community course. It is suitable for people who care about their community and want to know more, youth or community workers without much experience of studying, or students without much experience in the field of youth and community work.

Themes that will be developed within the course include: learning from experience; coping in new surroundings and understanding others.

This course is free of charge.

Cardiff Fun Run 2011 (5km).

Affiliated and non affiliated runners aged 12 years and over are welcome to the cardiff Fun Run.

Mature Driver Refresher Seminar.

Cardiff Council Road Safety Centre, Crown Way,

Are you over 55 and finding driving stressful at times?

Cardiff Council's Road Safety Unit, in conjunction with the Cardiff Group of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, is organising a number of FREE Mature Driver Refresher seminars to be held at the Road Safety Centre at Maindy during 2011. The seminar is designed to enable mature drivers to improve their existing practical skills and to help them cope with the growing demands of modern traffic conditions.

There are 18 places are available on each course and will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. Topics will include: the effects of speed, stopping distances, dealing with junctions and roundabouts, driver observation, accident causation, health and a fun Highway Code quiz.
